Kamairicha is made by gently roasting freshly picked tea leaves in an iron pan to stop oxidation. The result is a clear yellow brew with a subtle roasted aroma. Though this method predates steamed tea production in Japan, it’s now a rare find. Brought to Kyushu by Chinese immigrants in the 15th century, it’s a sip of history in every cup.
